Blast aeration is mostly used in sewage treatment plants, including commonly used roots blowers, submerged blowers, and other fans. However, due to its efficiency, noise, and other aspects, sewage treatment plants have begun to use magnetic suspension centrifugal blowers.

1、 Common blower

(1) Roots blower. Roots blower uses two or three blade rotors to compress and transport gas through relative movement in the cylinder. Its structure is simple, manufacturing is convenient, and it is easy to control and maintain. However, its efficiency is lower than that of submerged blower, with high airflow pulsation and noise. It is often used in process sections such as backwashing or air stripping in sewage plants.

(2) Submerged blower. The sewage treatment blower uses the aeration and reaeration method to treat sewage. The principle of the aeration reoxygenation method is that an oxidation reduction reaction occurs between the dissolved oxygen entering the water body and the black and odorous substances. For black and odorous rivers that have been in a state of long-term hypoxia, it generally requires a long-term process to restore the water ecosystem to its normal state. Aeration and reoxygenation of water bodies can help accelerate this process. The efficiency of submerged water fans is higher than that of Roots blowers, and they are mostly used for aeration in the biochemical section in sewage plants.

2. Comparison of blower energy consumption

The energy consumption of commonly used fans is in the order of Roots blower, submerged blower, and magnetic suspension blower.

Due to the large amount of air required for aeration in the biochemical section and the need for continuous operation, the energy consumption of the Roots blower is greater than that of the magnetic suspension blower. Therefore, the magnetic suspension blower is more suitable for aeration in the biochemical section of a sewage plant than the Roots blower and the submerged water blower.
